No doubt, the potable water requirement of the city is met satisfactorily for the present in spite of the fact that some of the
existing ponds and lakes are dried up completely, some are polluted and the underground water is depleting very fast while the Cauvery water resource has become the subject matter of adjudication before Tribunals and courts. With this grim situation on the water front, the Government may consider whether would it be possible to meet the potable water requirement to the ever increasing population of Bangalore satisfactorily.
If the answer is in the negative, would it not be proper for the Government to develop the other prime cities of the State like Tumkur, Mysore, Davangere, Hub Ii Dharwar, Shimoga, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Raichur etc., by providing world class infrastructural facilities to these cities so that the industrialists
could set up their establishments in these cities for the overall development of the State?
